Annual Fundraiser

Every year the Town of York Historical Society commemorates the incorporation of the City of Toronto with a birthday bash!

This annual fundraising event supports the operation of Toronto's First Post Office, the only museum interpreting the history of the Town of York and the early City of Toronto, while advocating for the preservation of the area's surviving built heritage.

Join us for a captivating evening of exploration and celebration at the Town of York Historical Society's annual fundraiser in celebration of Toronto's 191st Birthday. This event not only commemorates the incorporation of the City of Toronto from the Town of York on March 6, 1834, but also serves as a significant opportunity to support the preservation of our rich cultural heritage.

Dive into the boozy scene of the Town of York and early Toronto, as we emphasize the history of beers, brews, and the temperance movement that made the City run dry.
